Ernest Soderberg of Myrtle Creek was recognized for 50 years of faithful service to the Scottish rite. In a simple yet dignified ceremony Monday night in Roseburg Brother Soderberg was relieved of his 32º Cap and re-capped with a Blue one, symbolic of his rare status of having contributed a half century of service to the Order.
Brother Soderberg’s distinguished Masonic career began when he joined Iron River Lodge #457 in Michigan. In May, 1954 he was accepted into the Valley of Marquette Scottish rite in Michigan. In 1972 Brother Soderberg joined with the Roseburg Valley Scottish rite where he has been a valued member ever since. Brother Ernie is an active member of Maple Lodge #127 in Riddle and is also a Shriner.
The Roseburg Scottish rite thanks Brother Soderberg for his many years of devoted service and wishes him many, many more. On hand for the ceremony was Rolland Davis 33º, Manfred Finch 33º, Brian Neely 33º and Dave Sherman 32º KCCH.
