Dear Brethren,
To relieve the distressed is one of the fundamental obligations taught to every Mason. Right now, our Scottish Rite Brethren in the Spokane Valley Scottish Rite are facing severe hardship following devastating fires in their area.
Multiple Scottish Rite members have suffered significant damage, losing portions of their homes and local businesses. Tragically, two of our Brethren have lost everything. We are grateful to report that, to our knowledge, no Brethren or their family members have lost their lives in this disaster.
The Orient of Oregon is joining forces with the Supreme Council to mobilize emergency relief funds directly to these impacted families.
How You Can Help:
We are calling on all members to contribute to the relief effort today.
- If you want to send a check, or have a foundation or group wishing to make a direct gift, the best way is to send gifts to Spokane Scottish Rite Charities, 506 West 2nd Ave., Spokane, WA 99201.
- Or to make an online gift, visit the Supreme Council Disaster Relief page at scottishrite.org/philanthropy/disaster-relief/. When filling out the donation form, select “Scottish Rite Foundation, Southern Jurisdiction, U.S.A., Inc.” and choose “National Disaster Relief.” In the field asking “To what area would you like your donation directed?”, please enter “Washington wildfires” so your contribution goes directly to aid these affected Brethren and their families.
100% of donations made through the Supreme Council’s Disaster Relief Fund go directly to assisting victims of natural disasters. No contribution is too small, and every dollar helps a Brother rebuild his home, business, and life.
Please keep the Brethren of Spokane Valley in your thoughts and prayers, and consider making a donation today.
Fraternally,
The Orient of Oregon
Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry
