Salem Scottish Rite Conferral of the 4th and 4th Degrees

Tomorrow night, April 30  Salem Scottish Rite will confer the 4 and 14 Degrees.  We have at least 2 candidates, Brian Jenkins and Brett Marrs.  By conferring these degrees the  new candidates can continue through the degree cycle. 

We will be conferring the 18 degree on May 21.

This is the last time we are planning on conferring these mandatory degrees until next year.  If you know of anyone who is considering joining Scottish Rite please let them know about the conferral and we can still get them into the class.

The degree will start at 7:00pm.  We will be in the Gold Room.  The degree cast needs to arrive at 6pm.

The Oregon Orient Education Foundation Announces a New Educational Assistance Program

Brothers.

The Oregon Orient Educational Foundation is excited to announce a new educational assistance program for only, Oregon Scottish Rite brothers. There will be two $2500 scholarships available.

The purpose is to provide help for those brothers who wish to complete a degree, pursue graduate work, or gain skills needed for career advancement or training to reenter the workforce.

The application is included below or you can contact your Valley PR who has been sent information and applications.

Salem Valley’s Annual Breakfast for the Building.

Tomorrow morning, 8-12 am is our annual breakfast for the building.  All the pancakes, sausage, bacon, French toast, hash browns, and eggs, you can eat for $5.00.  This year the proceeds will be used for improvements for the outside of the building.

Rememberance and Renewal

Hello,

Tomorrow evening, April 2, will be Salem Valley’s Remembrance and Renewal-Maunday Thursday observance.

A swiss steak dinner will be served at 6:15pm, at a cost of $8.00.

The ceremony will follow at 7:30 in the Blue Room.

The cast and rose bearers will have a short practice between dinner and the ceremony.

Illustrious Brother  Claude ‘Bud’ Smith, Secretary Emeritus, Salem Valley Scottish Rite  has moved on to that House Not Built With Hands, March 24th 2015.  

There will be a Celebration  of Life for him on Monday March 30th , 2015 at 2:00 pm.

The evening of 3/26/15 Salem Valley with host An Evening With Our Masonic Family.  We will have representatives from several of our Appendant and Concordant Bodies present to speak on their organizations.

A roast beef dinner will be served at 6:15 pm, at a cost of $8.00, with the program following at 7:30 pm.

Upcoming Degree Work Header

  • Thursday March 19th will be Salem Scottish Rite Degree Night.  We will be conferring the 4th, 13th and 14th degrees.  Starting at 7pm     Casts report at 6pm
  • Masonic Family Night will be Thursday March 26th. Come meet the Masonic Organizations of Oregon.  Dinner  at 6:15pm Roast Beef    $8   and learn about the other Masonic Family Organizations.
  • April 2nd  Maundy Thursday (Remembrance and Renewal)  Dinner 6:15pm     Swiss Steak $8 Ceremony Following.

Thursday evening Salem Scottish Rite will host the Worshipful Masters of the local Lodges for Meet the Masters.  A spaghetti dinner will be served at 6:30 pm, at a cost of $8.00, followed by a short program recognizing the local Worshipful Masters.

Dinner is Chicken Cordon Bleu    $10  Ladies are our Guests.  

There will be a game night following sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary.
